Default Perfect car for dark cold rainy nights

I had to made a little trip last Friday night.
It was cold, damp, drizzle with a little fog.
Driving the B7 A4 was a delight with all of it's enhancements like Bi-Xeons, adaptive lighting, auto dimming inside and outside mirrors, rain sensing wipers, ESP, and of course quattro!
All these features made my trip easy, safe and fun. Best car I have driven in much less than perfect conditions. I am officially spoiled now.
I discovered when you turn the fog lights on the little red symbol turns green! Is this something new or perhaps I never noticed it on the 2003 A4.

yes, that light does turn green (but mine still shows a tad bit of orange in the corner, which is somewhat bothering me.... maybe my car's just defected)

if you pull the **** out 2 clicks, the other one will turn green as well(indicating the back fog light is now active)

I've a new 06 A4 2.0T Q w/premium, sunroof. It looks like the rear fog comes on from the indicator light turning green after pulling out to second click, but I don't see a rear fog light back there when I look for it. The fronts are there nice and bright, but nothing seems to go on in the rear. The manual says the rear fog light is "in the deck" (to me that means trunk lid), but I don't even see a lens for a light. Thoughts?? Thanks.
BTW - to first poster, I do not like the auto dimming mirrors (interior or exterior) on dark rainy PM's. Too many idiots that don't put their lights on around where I drive. I might be signalling, pulling out to pass thinking it's safe while there's actually a "darkened warrior" coming up behind me in the left lane. I take the auto dimming off, always have - it is easier to see them.

It's been raining every day here in the Northeast - this is my first audi - no auto-dimming mirrors, no HIDs - just manual, quattro and ESP and GOD DAMN! - even with the ESP off, it's so easy to control - and I was TRYING to lose it - went to an empty parking lot - it recovers almost instantly - I think you'd have to be an idiot with ZERO driving ability to completely lose control of this car!!!

the rear fog almost looks like your driver side brake light is on... it's subtle but in some instances might even be seen as annoying to oncoming drivers... its purpose is more for the autobahn where there is no speed limit and foggy a lot - you can tell what side of the vehicle to pass on when approaching it at warp speed

Thanks Pete - I would never have thought that fog lights would be red - I saw the clear ones up front and assumed I would see yellow in the rear. I was wondering how they'd (Audi) get away with putting lights facing cars behind that would blind them, so I had decided not to use them, but was curious where they were. Also, as I had seen on another Audi board, the 2006's have two rear fog lights. So now, when I pull the switch out 2 clicks and run around the back and stoop down to be at the right level to see 'em, it looks like a mystery driver is at the wheel with their foot on the brakes. Two for the price of a thousand, imagine that - a bargain!!!!!
