i live in winnipeg, and i had to do that also.
if you can hunt it down it is in the forum. all you need it for is the safety. i did it then took it off after. you have to jump a couple fuses in the panel. if you cant find it email me at jdorp_@hotmail.com because i may have it in my computer.

Default Surefire way to fry your car with those methods

From what I read long ago, there are problems with it including messing up your fuse box. There was a guy on the allroad forum who had a mechanic he knew, was able to do something inside the HEADLIGHT SWITCH, which is the obvious place. But he never told the secret. He just said to PM him or something, which is lame. Either that or the mechanic wouldn't reveal the secret.

Because as it's understood, the power is going there, the light switch just won't activate them in the parking light position without a jumper or rewire of the switch. Some said and tried the euro switch, but it doesn't do it alone, because I have it since I was thinking of doing the manual xenon level.

Yes, I've opted for the headlight switch rewire method now, as the fuse "jumper" method was not as reliable in the long run. The only issue is that it is not as easily reversed as the jumper method, as you need to cut one wire in the headlight harness and tap it into another wire.

If I have a chance, I will find the photos, but you basically cut the #8 wire from the harness (reference numbers are on the connector to the headlight switch) and tap it into the #16 wire. Front fog lights then operate all the time with parking lights and headlights, no need to pull out the headlight switch (rear fogs still require the **** to be pulled out two clicks). However, the foglights are not true "running lights" as they still require the **** to be turned to parking or headlight position.
