6 spd trans problems

Default 6 spd trans problems
ive got a 2000 a6 2.7, I cannot get it to shift into 1st or second easily, 3, 4, 5, 6, R, no problem. its not a clutch master etc, it easily goes into R , 3 etc, there is no grinding, it just moves so hard, i can force it into first, then it wont go into 2nd, but i can easily shift into 3, 4,5,6. what or how do these trannys shift? cable rod, nylon bushings, i assume it has to come out. any ideas?

Is it the same with the car running and with the car off?

Probably a linkage issue.

Default any more ideas?
how do these trans shift? external rods/cables like a honda? (dont think so)
