TCM, "Limp Mode" Problems...Help!
I was told that it could be that my TCM was bad and it needed to be replaced or that the connection was bad(I guess they often get water in the bottom of the foot well).
I've pulled the TCM to see if it was wet or if the connection was bad and it all checked out...Can I reset the TCM? And if so, how do I?
Thanks, Dan
. I'll be getting the vag com(ross tech) in the mail tomorrow so ill be able to tell you A LOT more then...Thanks again, Dan

P.S. I hope I posted this in the right place. I looked at the thread view and saw what you were talking about...
If you depress the gas pedal fully and up again three times within five seconds you can reset the TCM shift points. For instance.. If an old lady drives your car the shift points will be changed to her driving habbits. Then when you drive the car it will have "sluggish" shift points. Reseting the TCM by depressing the gas pedal and then drive it like you like, it will program according to your driving style. This is what I've been told at the dealer. (oh yeah, do it in park!)
