Dad's 02 s4

Alright, first off I'm trying to help my dad find whats wrong w/ his car. Here is a brief explanation. When my dad bought the car the exhaust had dark black smoke coming from it. He took it to a mechanic and had that fixed. Now when he steps on the gas the car starts to bog down when the turbos kick in. At slow acceleration it's fine. It also has a low idle. When I popped the hood a rich fuel odor was coming from the engine. Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated

Any Check Engine Lights? (CEL) find an audi club/forumn in your area and have someone with a vag-com scan your car...

The bogging under acceleration could be from a torn or damaged (tbb) throttle body boot. I am not sure about the other problem.

forgot to add....

has the upgraded ecs that boosts the horsepower to over 300. Ill get back to you w/ the error codes that pop up. located in tacoma wa.

My guess is a severe boost leak causing bogging and also a rich condition. Checking codes will be a good first step. What did the mechanic say he fixed the first time?
