Default Rear bumper removal

Would anyone a page out of the service manual on where all the screws and blots are located in order to remove it without breaking stuff?

Thanks.

Default Been here, done this...

"Part 7" in the diagram is the tricky one. It stays in the car when the bumper comes off, but it grabs onto some pegs that really lock the bumper cover solidly to the car. Bentley makes it all sound blase, but it's not easy to access. A lot easier if battery comes out first on that side. If you by chance have a W12, very hard on opposite side too with the video unit. And, what the instructions also don't say, is with the limited turning room you will have, it is probably the better part of 100 (yes one hundred), wrench strokes (allen key IIRC) to loosen those magic worm drive screws built into part #7 that grasp the bumper so firmly. Not that intuitive which way you actually turn it on which side to loosen rather than tighten. If you force the cover off prematurely and it is not fully loosened up, that part will likely break.

yes be careful with that worm gear. If it breaks it will be ridicoulsly stupid to get off. Good luck

Thanks for the info! This has proven to be way more difficult than I imagined.

Now where in the heck is this worm gear located?

Worm gear is accessed from inside the trunk on each side. See my prior post here with a picture of that whole assembly removed; you can see how I stuck the allen wrench into it. Go looking for the same thing inside trunk corners. Sort of like the allen screws you stick an allen wrench into to adjust the headlight.

My frustration and lack of sunlight forced me to put everything back together. Thanks for the reply, I will tackle it again later.
