BT Telephone Module location

BT Telephone Module location

It's time for me to R/R the BlueTooth Telephone Module in my 2007 A8, but I've seen conflicting info on where it's located. Is it located under the driver's seat or the front passenger seat?

It is underneath floor math in front of driver's seat (the left one).

rebuilding the BT telephone module

When looking for a replacement BT module, it appeared that rebuilt modules are available. Does anyone know who rebuilds these things? Any thoughts on going with a rebuilt unit? Am considering sending mine in to be rebuilt, and just wondering if anyone here has prior experience doing so.

i pushed the drivers seat all the way back. I then took the door sill panel up. It didnt see like the carpet would easily come up and since the audi tech manual didnt describe much for pulling back the carpet, i figured Im doing something wrong.

any tips on exactly how to get this moduel uncovered under the carpet?

also, i found the audi part for the loopback connector, but it looks like i would also need a fiber cable piece to go into that connector. Is that a certain type? something like a singlemode or multimode optic? is there a certain spped I need for that optic loop?
