Fuel Injector Installation
What is the smart way to reassemble the fuel manifold and injectors? Do you put the seals on the injectors and put them into the fuel manifold and then seat all of them into the intake manifold? They do not slide in easily, that's for sure. I some how pinched two of the upper o-rings and was lucky I didn't have a fire. Fuel was everywhere. Admission of guilt - I reused the upper o-rings - bad move.

First of all, get a set of new O-Rings. NITRILE, Hub!!
Get 'em at Napa. these Bosch EV1 injectors were actually used in the 3.1L iteration of the Buick Century.
I bathed each O-ring in Valvoline Synthetic 75W-90 Gear oil before putting them back on each injector, top and bottom. Never install ANY heated rubber piece dry.
Pop each injector up into the rail, and then guide the rail down so that each injector slides shallowly into its hole.
Gently press down, from the two rear injectors forward, until each set of 2 injectors gives you the satisfying, de-flowering "Pop" of each O-ring conforming moistly to the walls of its new home.
Hook up your wires.
