I just spent around 600.00 in parts B4 , gaskets?
Are you folks using any gasket sealant with the Upper oil pan and Oil Pan gaskets? I have the AFC 2.8 and don't want to ever have to pull the engine to fix a oil leak.
I purchased a rear main seal kit and clutch kit and all gaskets except the Heads.
A fellow told me think of the B4 as a Audi concept car just to prove to Barvarian Motor Works that Audi's can handle the same or better at a price point. He said parts at one time was almost all strictly OEM at the Dealer and the Exhaust and a few other parts will always will be.

YES DEFINITELY!!! I made the mistake of not using sealant on the Upper and lower oil pan gaskets. It took about two weeks for them to start leaking again. I went to my local Audi dealer and they have a sealant that they use for oil sumps. Its a white, high temp silicone. It costs $17 for a 80 mL tube. You can also buy stuff called Curil-T. Same deal: white, resin-based, high temp silicon. Usually about $12-$16 online. This is the stuff Porsche likes to use. If you can get it right from Audi, it's easier. Those little tubes do go a long way. I've already done my valley pan gasket and my valve covers and I still have like 80% of the tube left. Def get the sealant or you will end up like me: Buying new gaskets and doing it all over again.
