Estimate parts and labor cost for oil leak on 2.8Q? Any parts i can buy online to reduce cost?

Default Estimate parts and labor cost for oil leak on 2.8Q? Any parts i can buy online to reduce cost?
Mechanic told me its just the gasket and seals... any advice? TIA

Default gasket and seals are $250...
except the hard to get one's. Those are $500.

I was told its just a common engine oil leak for that engine type (AHA), and that age (1998), ... gasket and seals were his exact words. He's quoting me $900. Is that too steep?
