injection issue?

Dear all, was running some errands before Frankenstorm strikes and noticed that my 95 cab has some erratic idle and a slight hesitation when accelerating. Also as soon as I start the car I get a heavy fuel smell outside the car but no exhaust smoke whatsoever. The car starts right away thou...Any idea where to look once the Sandy is gone?

Fuel filter.

Just in front of your passenger rear wheel. 1/2 the size of a beer can. It's leaking.

Thanks Loudgouldwing, I have ordered a new fuel filter with Autohauz AZ and will give it to my mechanic as I understand that it's a pain in the proverbial to change.
