Default TTS reliable ?

Want to trade my 2010 prestige coupe on a new TTS and noticed a few advertised for over
$54k. Wow!
Anyhow, there are 2 for sale with less than 2k miles. Just wondering why they're already
on the market ?
Are there any reliability issues that anyone knows about ?
My TT , now at 45k miles has had only 2 problems, a new intake manifold and recently a new
turbo.
Also, will these cars be discounted at the end of summer ?

TIA
Jack

Default you've had more problems than most

I have not seen any negative comments on TTS reliability on the 3 Mk 2 forums I follow. Only complaint I've heard is noticeable turbo lag.

Due to poor sales, many of the Mk 2s were leased. When I bought my used 2011 base model roadster, there were a lot of low mileage 1 year old TT that were off lease. I bought one that was only in use 7 months before the owner traded it in on another leased car.

Also, since the coupe has a minmal rear seat, many buyers/leasers don't realize the effect of minimal passanger comfort on their social life and trade the car in quickly. This is particualrly true with roadsters. The car looks great until you realize your 3 friends don't (or can't for the roadster) ride in your car.

If you look a cars.com nationally, there are several CPO 2012 TTS with about 8K miles or less selling for the low $40s. I would not pay mid-50s for any used TTS if I could buy the others for $15K less. Just be patient. It took me 6 months to get my steal deal and I couldn't be happier.

Since the Mk 2 is no longer being made, I don't expect prices to change much until the Mk 3 is released in the US next summer, and used Mk 2 prices wil likely take a hit. Until then, the best time to get the best car deal is the last week of December. That is when I bought mine. At that time, the going price for a 2011 very low mileage CPO roadster was around $39K and I got mine for $34K + tax out the door. No trade was involved, so this was the real price

About to pull the trigger on a new 2015 TTS , 300 miles away in Mass.
I'm trading a 2010 TT prestige with 47k miles.

I'm surprised they're offering me only $19.5 on my trade. KBB lists a range for a fair to medium condition 2010 TT from $20 to $25k.

Dealer said the KBB estimates aren't realistic. My TT does need some touch up due to curb
rash to the wheels but it's been serviced religiously and has no door dings.

The car is a nimbus gray TTS with the fixed wing. It's the 1 of 500 anniversity model.

Any negotiation recommendations ?

Jack
