MMI non-English characters

I got a 2016 a7 and I noticed something weird.

I got some Korean songs loaded on my ipod and I noticed that the dashboard screen displays the Korean characters just fine while the main MMI screen shows boxes for the characters.

Does anyone know why this happens?

It no doubt has a lot to do with the processor used in the main display. It is very much like a PC display with the Nvidea chip they use to drive it.

So the main display uses a different processor than the dashboard display? I thought they both ran off of the same processor because the 2016 upgrade to the tegra 4 added features to the dashboard screen too.
