Default mmi mechanism problems

hi guys

looks like my mmi mechanism has bit the dust .... when i start car the screen comes up but it very noisy and jerking ' sometimes doesn't go all the way up or down
does anyone know if there's a repair kit available for them similar to the d3 or even if the d3 repair kit works on the d4,s
i have a 2010 a8 with the 4.2 tdi engine and am based in the u.k

thanks in advance

When my MMI fails again, I'll find a way to build a bracket, bolt/lock it in the up position. So stupid you can not program it to stay in the up position. Why does it need to drop in the dash in the first place?

right guys

i managed to find a second hand mechanism over in europe and fitted this

its quite a lengthy strip down to get to the unit im afraid with lots of little hidden screws and parts
i have the old mechanism on my bench now and its considerably more complicated than the older d3 version ' when ive figured out exactly what makes it tick i will look into putting a package together for a proper repair kit as it seams to be an item thats failing moe and more
