Term Care - Platinum Plus
I'm in the process of buying an RS3 and I just wanted advice on Term Care. This is my first Audi and usually I turn down all warranties but it seems like it could be good (depending on how long the rotors last). Over 4 years or 60,000 miles, it covers mechanical breakdown, 1 alignment, and 1 replacement of the following: front/rear pads/rotors, battery, and windshield wipers. My cost would be $1750. I'm ballparking that dealer price for those would probably be 500 for pads, 3000 for rotors, 200 for battery, and 100 for wipers. Of course, not going through the dealer, I'm guessing would probably knock that down by about 30% or so. Do those ballpark prices look correct for Audi? If they are, then it all comes down to rotors. Anybody have an idea on how long they last? Any thoughts on Term Care in general?

I went with the steel brakes (plus the plan excludes ceramic). Any experience would be helpful from anybody who has had it (regardless of model).

That doesn't surprise me since I specifically asked the dealer what the ceramic brakes would cost to replace (even though I didn't get them I'm always curious) ... it was ONLY $4,000 / rotor. Yep, that's what he said. OUCH! I hope no one has to replace those babies!
I definitely was going to get the extra care but I managed to get the dealer to include it with the car but regardless, I was going to get it based on feedback I received or saw in other places. Hope this helps until someone can give you a more definitive answer.
