Hi, I recently bought an a3 convertible 2017 2.0Tfsi, and Im thinking of buying a Cold air intake, mainly to be able to hear some blow off valve action and get some extra hp, my question is, I have never moded any of my cars, Ive been searching for some kn options but I can't seem to find any Model that will fit perfectly to my engine, kn does not offer any option for my exact model, so I searched for a gti filter or a former a3 model but my concern is the maf sensor, these dont seem to have the apropr iate opening for it, what do you guys think? Can anyone please recommend an intake that will fit? Thanks

Several other vendors offer their own intakes as well, and I can't comment on any of them myself because I'm still running a stock intake. From what I hear any of these intakes can be run without a tune but coming from an STI where an intake would definitely cause the engine to run lean (without a tune) I'm going to wait till I do get a tune to even consider doing one. Hopefully others who have experience can chime in.
Thats pretty interesting. They must have changed the location of the MAF for 2017. I have a 2016 and you can see (what I think is the MAF) on the left side of the intake tube, just to the right of the engine. There is also a small inline rubber tube just next to the MAF that plugs into the intake. You should definitely check with any vendor to make sure it fits the 2017.
In terms of intakes, I would go with a simple, inexpensive model like Injen or AF Dynamics (commonly referred to as the "Ebay intake"). Very high quality parts and easy to install. Either should run you about $175 instead of $300-$500 for a super fancy looking, but same performance brand name. Just my two cents on that.
