2002 A6 Avant 3.0 Starting Issues
I have a ‘02 A6 that doesn’t want to start on the first crank. It will always start right up on the second try but never on the first. This is a new issues in the last week or so. I am planning on looking at the injectors, maybe there is a leaky one that if flooding the manifold? Anyone have any ideas of what I should look at next?

It might also be the fuel pressure leaks back to the tank. Try turning the key to just before the starter engages, hold it there for a few seconds then turn off. Do this twice then start as usual. If it starts this suggests the fuel leaks back to the tank.

i was thinking about that too. I have tried what you said, cycling the ignition 5x as well as letting it sit with the ignition on for 30 seconds before starting. Unfortunately neither of those seemed to do the trick. I am going to measure the pressure on the fuel rail this weekend and will be sure to note how fast the pressure drops once the ignition is turned off. I will reply back and let you know what I find!
