06 Manual B7 random “hick up” while driving or at idle
This is my first post here. I hope this is in the right area.
I’ve been having the weirdest issue for several months. My manual ‘06 B7 with 175k miles has been having this issue where it stalls or hick-ups randomly, either while driving or at idle. It’s most common around 4K rpm and in 3rd or 4th gear. It feels as if the car lost all power for a second and then regains power. Kinda like it stalled or had a hard miss. The only way I can somewhat replicate it, is if I am driving then slam on the brake with my left foot while still pressing the gas. I doesn’t create the issue, just mocks it. If it happens at idle(in neutral), the car either almost dies or dies completely, as if I was to stall it in first gear. It always starts right back up. It doesn’t happen all the time. It can go days without an issue and then happen multiple times in a row.
I have read several forums and I have replaced the following in order, all OEM parts;
Air Filter
Fuel
Fuel Filter
Oil & Oil Filter
MAS
All 4 Coil Packs
All 4 Spark Plugs
Brake Light Switch
This started after I changed the Trans and rear diff fluid with OEM fluid. Idk, if there is a correlation. This happens in or out of gear.
Note; I do my own work. I was a tech for several yrs but I work on Honda and Acura. All parts I replace, are OEM if it is related to the engine.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m sure it’s something silly that Audi guys like yourself already know about.
Thank you!!!!!!!
