When i shift out of Park, the Dash still says my car is in park

Im having this issue and cannot figure out the issue.....
I can shift the care out of park but the dash doesn't change.
The car drives, and shifts, but the dash still lights up as Park.
ECM, TCM, Position Sensor, Brake Light Switch? Any of these the issue?
Please help, my car has been parked for some months now, as I'm trying to fix this issue.

The shifter strip probably has broken, there are magnets in there that the dash uses to determine the shifter position. I am not sure about the specific behavior you are describing but there are known examples of the display misbehaving due to that strip.
