Interior blower motor
The interior blower motor started giving problems on my Avant.
After inspecting the motor I saw it needed a set of brushes and the com was quite dirty.
Phoned Audi for price of brushes, which are'nt available only replacement fan at a rediculous price of R3300 (South Africa) +- $412. :-(
Phoned breakers and non of them had blower motors - seems a common problem.
SO IF YOUR BLOWER MOTOR STARTS MAKING A CLICKING NOISE ITS THE BRUSH SPRING GRINDING THE COMM AWAY - STOP FAN
I ended up purchasing a set of brushes for a Metabo angle grinder which where wider than the Audi brushes, sanded them down to correct thickness and cleaned the comm.
Re-oiled the motor bushes and all works fine again.
