Help with a window
I have a friend that has a B5 Audi A4 with a driver's side window that came off the track. At least that's how he describes it. It will not roll up. I was wondering if anyone in the LA area that is willing to fix it? How much would you charge? He works in Century City and lives near the cross streets of Pico & Roxbury or something like that. He would have taken it to the dealer but they were going to take him for a ride with pricing. If there is an alternative we would appreciate the advice too. Thanks!

By now your friend may have fixed the window, but if he hasn't, the problem is probably a broken plastic guide that slides up and down a steel channel. I repaired mine by drilling a hole through the broken halves and using a screw and nut to hold them together, but I may have just been lucky that the guide was only in two pieces. The first step would be to take the door panel off to see what's broken.
