Default Honestly, I'd say thats a DIY kind of job.

What car are you putting it in? I can probably find a write-up for you.

Default Im a MORON and..........

I was able to figure it out, I mean I really am an idiot, so if I can do it, then anyone can

I used a fues Tap that you can buy at any autoparts store.......

find a fuse that's 1) not a critical system 2) thats "switched" I used the fuse for the rear wiper motor

take that fuse out, insert the tap...... then there are two spots on the tap, one slot is for the fuse you removed, and the other slot is the fuse for your V1....... you dont have to run the in-line fuse

here are a few pics.........

Default oh two more tips

make sure the wire comming out of the tap points downward and you put the CAR's fuse in the bottom slot, the V1 fuse in the top slot

Default fuse 28 on S4 sedans, or you could also connect to something like the 75X relay

That is what I used for my boost gauge, and it is switched by the key, so the gauge is always on whenever the car is.

Default not entirely. did I ever tell you about scanning this guy's codes in Nashville?

he'd tried to hardwire his laser jammer and radar detector. Ended up frying the entire fuse block or something like that.

Default '07 S4 and '07 A6

Neither of us are "handy" at this type of stuff (see maintenance package), but really need the wire hidden to stop pissing off cops and attracting attention. A write up would be great.

Default If you do go the DIY route and need a hand, let me know.

Im moving this weekend, but I should have some free time in about 2 weeks.
If you decide to take it to a shop, I recommend Sound Sensations in Marietta. They may be pricey (but most audio shops are), and I know these guys do good work.
