2015 A6 CNH 2.0tdi: Sudden loss of revs and rough idle
Hi All,
*car loses revs suddenly for 1-2 seconds while driving and can idle bad, no fault codes*
I have a 2015 Audi A6 2.0tdi engine code CNH with just over 100000 miles. The car has been giving some trouble over the past few months. It started with a sudden loss of revs, like a hiccup on the road. This has got more frequent recently and the car has also had two episodes where it has idled very rough and cut out. This could take 2 minutes to clear up.
My family are mechanics and we have worked on a lot of these 2.0tdis and never had an issue like this especially with no fault code present. I have changed the diesel filter (OEM) and I have given the car some of VWs fuel additive for carbon build up. The EGR and AdBlue was also deleted with a map before this became an issue. There is no sign of corrosion on the ECU connectors/casing. I will get a Crankshaft sensor this week and try that.
Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated.
