Default Used Q5 TDI with few miles added since 2016?

I have been watching the used market of Q5 TDIs for awhile now. Recently I have noticed about 4 or 5 where the miles listed on carfax didn't change much after 2016. For example, there is a 2014 Q5 TDI for sale in ATL That has only added 2500 miles in 2.5 years. Is this due to the buyback? Have these cars been sitting in lots for 2-3 years?

Don't believe 2014's were eligible for buyback, only emissions compliant repair.

True, but there was a stop - sale initiated by AoA for all affected vehicles, so many such vehicles sat on dealer lots

I've identified 3 different vehicles, TX, NJ, and NY. All were on personal lease, then they stop adding miles at some point in 2016. then they go to auction within the last 2-5 months. All 3 ended up in ATL dealers. Maybe it's due to a limit on miles for a leased vehicle?

Are they premium or premium plus trims? Someone more Audi knowledgeable will hopefully chime in, but I believe there was an Audi dealer hold due to a recall for detecting an occupant in the passenger seat? I don't believe it affected Prestige trim (different seats) and it fairly recently was resolved for the other trims. Might have only affected new cars -- maybe a possible explanation, maybe not.

The 3 that I can see so far are all Premium Plus trim.

Brain freeze, there was a pods recall for A6s. Don't know if there was a similar issue with Q5s.
