"the noise" - part II
For those of you that may have read my post from last week describing "the Noise" coming out of the front right of my very new TT, I have an update. Actually it's a small rant, venting, whatever.
Since "the Noise" went away the first time I tried to take my car to a closer dealership, yesterday I took my car back to where I bought it, thinking they'd feel more obligated to fix it. The car could sense my fear, probably using the ESP, and stopped making the noise as I approached the dealership in Oakland. To their credit, the service area in Oakland ran like a well oiled machine, line it up, check it in, sign the stuff and get a car to drive. The guy I talked to seemed genuinely interested in my noise. In exchange I got the H.M.S. Chevy Malibu, a four door, babe magnet if I ever drove one. 0-60 in just under 5 minutes. The nice part was that I was able to dock the Good Ship Malibu next to another crappy car without thinking twice.
Audi called me after lunch, they drove it, listened, put it up in the air, looking in, under, and around it. No noise! There was absolutely nothing wrong. That's it, I'm officially mental. They offered to keep it there over
night and try again tomorrow, I could drive it for them or take just it home. I admitted defeat, picked it up and decided to keep the radio on at all times.
ok, I'm done venting.

Lea, don't count on it being 'you' - might come back tomorrow...
or, might not. A serious of posts over a long time have related all kinds of issues which were later left unresolved by the Serv. Dept. but fixed by folks on this Forum
In any event, if the noise does come back, we'll all conclude "it's just you" and move on. We've plenty of 'off' folks in this group! :-)

It's an interview of sorts.>
Your new TT is just making sure if there's a problem with him/her, that you will be kind enough to look after him/her. That's all, and I'd say you past the test! Congrats, and good luck with the new baby!

Re: you got email
Dave, your experience with your wheel bearing and how it would go away unless the car/wheel was cold sounds as close as anything I've heard. Guess I'll leave it at the dealership overnight. Sigh...
Evan's offered to take a listen at our Blackhawk event Sunday but, since its an hour drive to get there, I'm pretty sure the noise will be gone.
