"Cicada-Like" Buzz Sound When Shifting
Don't look at me like I'm nuts, but I just started noticing an odd sound when I shift gears. It sounds kinda like the cyclical buzzing that cicada insects make. My best typographical representation is:
HZZZZ-Hzzzz-Hzzz-hzz
It happens very quickly, and each buzz is fainter than the last. I dunno if it's always done it, but I just noticed it.
It only happens in the brief period when I'm off the gas between gears, and it's louder if I'm accelerating hard. Is this normal? Is it a sign of (impending?) DV failure? Or of a TT Owner who has spent too many Augusts in Ohio? ;-)
I have a 01 225QC with 10,000 miles on it. I plan to mention the sound when I take the car in for its 10,000-mile service, and I'd like your thoughts. Thanks!
