"Screwed" by a local shop
So I was cleaning up my car yesterday to get ready for TT-East and I took the wheels off to clean and rotate them. When I went to reinstall one, I noticed that the lug bolt holes in the rotor did not line up exactly with the hub. That's when I noticed that the rotor screw was missing.
Then it occurred to me that GRD in Naperville never replaced the brake rotor screws when they installed my new rotors earlier this summer. AND I provided them with four brand new rotor screws in case any of the old ones got torn up when removing. Guess they decided I didn't need them.
Which is beside the point; I provided new rotor screws so they would be replaced. Those bastards. I'll never go back to that shop, especially after they gave me my car back with faulty pads - TWICE - and admitted after I questioned them that they too felt the brakes weren't right.
I assume that missing the rotor screw is not an issue (other than not holding the rotor in place when removing the wheel)?

You sure have had some bad luck ....
I know for a fact that GRD is just way too busy, still that is no excuse.
Regardless, just an fyi, and not that it matters, but since I have had my TT and changed the rotors the first time, I never had those little screws. I asked a few people about it and all said no worries, so I dont worry
Anyway, shoot me an email whenever you get a chance regarding our departure time for TT-east - looking forward to a great ride!

it's just a pain to re-mount your wheels, trying to thread them through the rotors >
to the hubs. Try it with spacers too, if you arent already! I've had 2 threaded studs made with slotted heads: I use them to mount the wheels through the spacers, through the rotor, through a spacer for the rotor, and into the hub! I set the studs into the hubs to maintain everything in alignment , then set the wheel onto them, then proceed with the lug nuts, then remove the spacers and finally the last two lugnuts. pita. ;-(

Yeah it's OK, just annoying
I haven't heard from Kurt yet but I'll drop you an email once we figure it out. I'm looking to do the entire drive in one day. (My vacation time is getting a little short so I'd like to conserve.)
