Any thoughts on this one? This isn't too far from me.

Default Over Priced

Considering you can pick up a low mile used 02 for around $20k I wouldn't spend 9 grand more just for a year newer.
even if you're afraid of buying something this big on Ebay take a look around. You can get a good idea on prices and what the good deals are.

p.s. Don't be afriad to buy off Ebay, you can get some great deals. Bought my TT there as well as my Excelsior Henderson Motorcycle.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. The '02's on Ebay have been going around 21-23, which is more in line with what I want to pay. The biggest thing I've ever bought on Ebay is a laptop computer. I'm still kind of wary of buying a car without a drive first -- I would prefer to find a local seller.

Default Re: Ebay Buying

It can be scary. My TT purchase was a test for both me and the seller at times but it all worked out in the end. I think I paid a bit more than I would have if I had seen it in person, he underestimated the amount of nicks/dings. But it was a New York car so that was expected. And the approximate $10k in upgrades was worth it to me where it wouldn't be to some buyers.
My ebay Motorcycle deal went off without a hitch but it was a new bike from a dealer. You should feel a lot better if your dealing with a dealer I'd think.

Now if I was looking right now. I'd call and check the history on the following car, maybe see if someone on the boards is local and could go test drive it. And then I'd pick that sucker up, only car I wanted worse than Black.....

Only color(Misano) faster than Black

Have you seen 2002 225q's on ebay for 20k. I have been looking and that may be in line for a 2001 but I haven't seen 2002 go for that low.

Default I thought I have

But I haven't been paying as much attention since I got mine. I wouldn't have any problems spending $25k for an excellent 2002.
So 2001 - $20k
2002 - $25k MAX
2003 - I guess $29k wouldn't be out of line a whole lot. Probably just not the best value all around.

Default I just paid $26,750 for an 03 225 coupe which was CPO from a dealer

it's actually only been in service for 14 months and in "as new" condition. It had 35k but they were all commuter miles. To be honest - there were lots of 01's with similar mileage - and around $21k - but warranty was either expired or ready to expire and the early cars were prone to more issues. Did I pay a premium? Yeah - somewhat - but didn't really matter if I paid $24k or $27k as long as I got the color that I wanted in as good a condition as possible, WITH a warranty - knowing all the common TT issues that are out there.
