An interesting exception is the 2002 Z-06 with a cast wheel which is lighter...
than the 2001 forged wheel which looks identical and is as strong.
Of course, this is a very special casting technique probably unavailable in the aftermarket for a while. One of the reasons for the change was because GM couldn't get enough good forged wheels from their supplier.

What ever you do, if you decide on 18s, make sure you get wide enough contact so you don't bend your
new rims. I don't care if you have to roll the fenders, just do it. If you get lets say 18 x 8.5 get atleast 235. I have bent 2 of my rims on different occasions on the S4 and it was always with 225s never with 235s.

Oops also, if you end up getting a powder coated wheel and have it fixed later, the powder coating will never match. Keep this in mind when looking at the lip of the rim.
