2000 Audi TT key problem
I have a 2000 audi tt quattro. I lost my key and do not have a spare. I spoke to audi and they told me i can just order the key head for 80 dollars and i dont have to order the fob. They told me they dont know whether my car has the chip in the key because of the year it is they dont know whether audi was doing the chips in the keys yet. Does anyone know whether or not I'll need to get it programmed after i have the key made or will it start the car stay running with just the key and no programming?

+1 on the valet key info, however I believe that late 2001 MY cars were the first to have standard immobilizers. My early '01 does not have one.

Not sure. Apparently there’s some variation. My coupe was built in 9 of 2000 and does have immobilizer.

Similar to this question on key
I have an Audi TT 2002 and as I know you can reset all electrical to factory presets by pressing something on the key when the door is open. Does anyone can help me with this procedure?

I bought an Audi Key programmer on Ebay for ~$65. It wasn't able to program the key, but it was able to show my 4 digit pin. I was able to program the immobilizer using VAG-com once I had the pin. I had the key blade cut by the dealer. This was on a 2001 TT
