2001 Battery/Electrical Problems
Anybody else experience batteries going dead? Mine had been replaced about 4 months before I bought it, then went dead 2 months later. The dealer said that the low-slung nature of car causes vibration, which can make a cell go bad. So they put one in, no charge. 3 months later it goes bad while I was out of state. The dealership in Minnesota said the vibration thing was bogus, that there was an electrical draw of about 3 amps somewhere in the car causing the battery to discharge. So now I'm left charging the battery every couple of days till I decide what to do. Any advice from anyone out there?

I love these stories>>
they never cease to amaze me! Yes, dealer #1 is smoking crack. Sounds like you got an electrical gremlin sapping power when the car is not running and/or your alternator is not working properly.

A few have had bad clusters.....>>
That caused the mysterious electrical draw. Heard exactly this on at least 2 occasions here. In both a new cluster fixed the problem.
Did the dealer really say that? Jeez..

Instrument clusters? The second dealer supposedly checked that (they spent two hours investigating the problem, then had to close shop).
