Someone previously posted that motor trend clocked the roadster at 7.0 sec 0-60. Is the 225 roadster that much slower than the coupe?

The review was from Motorweek...
My original post is a few pages back now, but they, MOTORWEEK, the TV show, clocked the 225TTR from 0-60 in 7.0 secs, which is not really that far from Audi's number of 6.7 secs. Motorweek mentioned a grabby clutch and soft power off the line until the turbo kicked in. If you look at some of the other cars they've tested, the 0-60 numbers are consistent with other published times. For example, they recently tested the Boxster S and got a 0-60 time of 5.5 secs. Porsche claims 5.9 sec for a 0-62 time. The text of the review can be found at www.pbs.org and looking up motorweek. -RW

I can tell you that the 225q feels a lot faster than my 180 fwd...
No comparison, and several sources listed the fwd's time as UNDER 7 seconds. The 225q roadster is quick, and I suspect you'd have to be a mediocre driver to get a 7 second time. My guess is around 6.3.

Re: The review was from Motorweek...
A lot depends on how the time is "tested"; for example, some start from a regular start and get 0-60 times like a normal, sane person would. Others, notably many car mags, hold the engine at red line and drop the clutch to start. Bad for all parts involved, but usually shaves about .5 second off the time...
