Default 225 vs 180

Hey Guys,

I'm kinda new to this board, and had a couple of questions for you.

How dramatic is the difference between the 225HP and the 180? Is it extremely noticable?

Also, can you just chip the turbo on the 180 to get it to match the 225? If so, is it cheaper or more expensive that just getting the 225?

Sorry for all these newbie questions, but if someone could help, that would be great.

Default DMB4040 = Dave Matthews Band and you like song #40?

I used to be a HUGE dmb fan. 40 and 41 are my absolute favorites.

To help with your question - I would recommend driving both to see for yourself but if you are a HP man definitley get the 225..the money to chip and exhaust a 180 could be the same price as the upgrade of the 180->225. Also a chipped 180 is NOT as quick as a 225 and definitley not as quick as a chipped 225.

Hope this helps.

Default I always confuse Dave Matthews Band with Matthew Good Band... (not the music, the names)

I like them both.

Get the 225. Do a search if you need to know more.

Default Yup, and...

Chipping also adds warrany "issues".

Only good arguments for the 180:
1) Less noticable turbo lag, but at the expense of HP.
2) Cost...if money is an issue, it's a valid compromise.
3) It was all that was available when I bought...but times have changed

Default Re: GET 225!

Thanks for the advice.

Performance is one of the biggest issues for me. I was aiming for the 225 from the start, just wanted to know if most got the 180 and just chipped it themselves to equal the 225

Default How does the warranty suffer by chipping?

Is the warranty voided? or just parts of it voided?

any explanation would help
