Default 42DD DP pipe...will it pass inspection without the cat?

i have NJ vehicle inspection this month...i'm wondering if my car will pass inspection without removing the 'test' pipe.

i have the 42DD cat...if i need to put it in. wonder if anyone passed inspection without the cat.

Default depends on how they test emissions, if they scan for codes

as long as you don't have a CEL and all of the readiness codes are set you're fine.

Default how much is a gallon of denatured alcohol? Have you actually tried this?

What pollutant are you trying to address with this method? What ratio of alcohol to gasoline do you need for the engine to even start up?

Might be better off giving some alcohol to the inspector. :-)

Default My car doesn't throw a CEL for the rear 02 sensor but it doesn't set readiness for it either

i'm thinking if I put on my angle block this would change, but i'm not sure.

Default The cat will help the sniff test - but like John said - if you have codes....

or readiness isn't set - you'll fail the test - at least in most places. If you have codes - you need to clear them and then wait for readiness to set - which takes a bit of time - depending on your driving etc. Whatever you do - if you have codes don't clear them right before the test - you'll fail readiness.
