Default ? about replacing exhaust after getting rear-ended

so they said they would need to order a full new exhaust system to fix the dented tip from the crash. My question is how much is that oem exhaust going to cost them and is there anyway i could get them to order me a blueflame exhaust instead. granted that i would pay the difference over the price of oem. oh and its a service king if that matters.

Default what ever body shop is fixing ur car should be able to justify a non oem

exhaust if its A. cheaper for it and B. able to get it faster.

last body shop i worked at tried to order OEM exhaust for a m3, dealer wanted 1800 buks for it plus freight charges and said it would take 30-45 days to get. after market was 1200 shipped and took 3days to get. after we spoke to the insurance company they had no problem with the use of the non oem parts as it would A. save them money on the parts B. save them money on the owner not having his rental car for so long and C. the owner agreed in writing that it was ok to put non OEM exhaust onto his car.

i bet audi wants some super sized price for a whole exhaust system, do some checking into it on ur own and take what u find out price wise and time wise in to the shop and help make life easy on the by giving them part #'s for the oem stuff prices, shipping fee's then the same for what u want. most times i see people come into the shop with this info its way easier to get the insurance company to work with you. u know the ins and outs of what u want, make it easy for everyone else to understand what ur getting at.

Default My OEM 180 hp exhaust was $501.45 . . .

This cost excludes another $34.17 for the rear exhaust clamp.

These figures, which of course match the bill from my body shop, are from the damage assessment I received from AAA, the insured driver's insurance company.

As I've posted before, if I'd known I needed a new exhaust, I would have opted for something a little more sexier and fun.
