After a long time...Back in the Saddle Again! (long?)
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/20142/smauto1.jpg"></center><p>Well, it has been a long time.
On july 23, I was "run over" by a 18 wheeler while in my VW Corrado. The truck's rear left trailer wheel ending up on top of my driver side door. They had to cut the roof off to get me out. The picture paints a thousand words. It was only seven weeks after I had gotten my TT, 1300 miles on it.
The result was a pelvis broken in five places, a broken clavicle, internal plumbing problesm and a drop foot from nerve damage to the spinal cord. You might remeber by posts in mid August.
Since then I have had 8 weeks in the hospital (4 in acute care and 4 in rehab - 6 of those in traction), 4 weeks out and back to work. I am in out patient physical therapy. Most of the attention has been paid to my left leg as I have not used it due to the fact that the pelvis part of my hip joint had broken into three places and is now held together by two pins.
Yesterday, I was allowed to put weight back on my left leg and walk with one crutch. What that meant as well was that I could drive sooo..
Time to TT it! After three months (it was driven on weekends by a firend to keep it in shape) I will be drivin'! Of course followed by polishing!
Look for me on the roads of NJ once again, albeit with some internal mods, some still to be worked on.
Thanks to those who wrote to me with guidance. I will take it slow but it sure will feel good to be on the trail again.
