Also, there are a few very tiny chips (.02" or .5mm wide) on the front skirt. Should I touch them up first or will they visually disappear after I apply the film?

P.S. It's 70deg F (21deg C) and very dry here in San Diego. My best wishes to all our TT brethren and sistren(?) in the rest of the country and also to all our friends in Europe. You should remove ALL wax, etc first. You should also do the touch-up

Zaino is not a wax. No greasy kid stuff to worry about.

If you touch up wait to cure, wax/zaino if buffed well and no grit embedded should be fine IMHO.

do you keep that stuff on forever???? is it uv protected so it won't change color in the sun???
