Default answer to jeff about hardtops and "marketing strategie"

jeff, all 3 hardtops i sold the last 3 days been sold to people i know. not on audiworld. besides this, it was a "joke" to give it up!

actually, i am here on audiworld to learn more about your requests and demands. as you may saw on our website, porsche is our main business and we do pretty well there. audi performance parts are planned for the end of the year.

no jeff, i would be nervous if we wouldn't be able to sell something like the pic shows:

a BRAND NEW 2.8 RSR Porsche Engine, Case 911/72, build by Valentine Schaeffer in 1998, Porsches former F1 engine engineer. Handwritten certificate available - of course! priced a little bit higher as you paid for your TT!

i would be really nervous if i would have a few of them longer than a week in stock (i got them as 3.0, 3.6, and 3.8 RSR (cup & sprint engines)!

Default You came on this forum to tell us about hardtop, and now you're engaged

in a pissing war (priced a little higher ..your TT) cuz someone said its priced too high & who does your marketing. As a businessman you should realize that not everyone will buy your product for a multitude of reasons, quality or price or whatever. Its his/her choise. Also as an astute businessman you could have asked, "what are you willing to pay?" (Unless your marketing research company already told what the dollar amount is thta TT owners are willing AND able to pay.) The TT from my non-business perspective has a wider demographic spread than does a Porsche 911-986 crowd, who may be more able AND willing to pay for esoteric engines and other parts from you.

If I were to buy a hardtop, i'd get one IF the price was right ( and if I had a roadster... I have a coupe) However, because of your condescending tone... I would not likely buy from you. Also, because I'm young, I'm likely to have a Porsche in 3-5 years. Do you think I will shop with you?

Ralph is obviously German, and I could see this coming. IMHO, Ralph is not trying to be what you might consider rude. Before anybody starts in about Ad space etc., he's said in a previous post that he's trying to get ahold of ad people here.

Default I've dealt with German..polite ones. Its irks me

when someone goes to a forum or newsgroups, to "help" people out with a product for which they clearly have a ($) vested interest. Then take another tack by saying... "audi is not our main product" we sell mostly engines that cost more than the price of your entire car. Please don't chalk that up to cultural differences, people are smarter than that!

Buy an ad, don't spam

Default right, i am german.....

and i really don'y want to be "rude". my german is "better", believe me.

what i tried to say was that i understood that the price seems high, it is summer and....i am not worry about having hardtops sitting. instead, i would be worry to have these engines sitting longer than a week (just the though on the tight up money, wow!).

i really do apologize if this came "wrong" over, because it wasn't meant this way!

besides this, it's not a war, and i guess jeff did not see it this way either (...as stated, i guess!).

anyway, it was the last thing in my mind to be rude or be involved in a "war". that's not my style. english is my second language and it's a kind of hart once in while to find the "right" words.

peace! :-)))

TheRaceStore
