Any recommendations from the forum for a good if not great digital camera? What do you use?

Olympus D-450 Zoom
I am not a camera guy, don't like fooling with settings, just point and shoot. Purchased the Olympus just before Christmas and am really having fun with it. You may have seen some of my fantastic pictures on the forum. I use it with Adobe Photoshop to resize, combine, etc. The neat thing is being able to send really good pictures to friends on the net.. if you would like more info email me.

I really like the Kodak DC215. It's certainly not the best or most powerful one around, but I have used several in that pricerange and would buy the DC215 hands down.
On the highest res setting, a 3x5 printout would be passable but not photo-quality. But for web shots or a harddrive picture collection it's absolutely great. Most user-friendly camera of all that I've tried. I didn't even have to open the instruction manual because the onboard menu system is so easy to figure out.
A couple of plusses... it takes normal size batteries so you don't have to invest in psycho proprietary rechargers or anything. It also takes these wonderful little flashcards. The smallest of the 3 styles I've used. Small enough to be slid into a PCMCIA card and used as a harddrive.
That's my pick.

Sony FD 91
Great camera, like the optical zoom (no digital zoom) 38-512mm (compared to a SLR camera), both viewer -screen and eyeviewer). storing in diskettes is really cheap and never you have problems running out of memory to store fotos. Quality of fotos good.

If you want a really good and compact digital camera go for the Canon Powershot S10, it has received excellent reviews in most camera magazines and websites. There's also a newer 3 megapixel model called S20 available very soon (may be in stores already).
Probably the best digital camera website is photo.askey.net. There you'll find lots of digicam reviews and sample pictures.

I have the Kodak DC290 it has a USB connection. I Love the camera! Awesome and very easy to use
I got it two days before a trip to Hawaii in December all of the 200 pictures came out amazing!
I just ordered a set of lenses for it.
I have seen the price come down to around $800 now, pretty good deal. I also came with NiCad batteries and a recharger! It comes with an 8mb and a 16 mb memory module. I bought a 64mb card also.
The camera is a 3.3 megapixel camera with compression.

Kodak DC280. CNET.com rated best. This, Kodak DC280 and Olympus were top of my list. (links)
Check out the link in blue below first, then these.
Kodadk DC280 is 2 megapixel, $699 retail (Best Buy), USB for fast downloading to PC and prints photo quality with the right printer (Canon BJC 6000, $125 at Best Buy) I mention Best Buy because they are nationwide. Also, Kodak is easy to use and comes with all cables to get you going immediately. Even comes with 4 AA alkalines to use while the NimH batteries are charging!
