Anyone have Hella sidemarkers? Tried to install however the retainer

Anyone have Hella sidemarkers? Tried to install however the retainer
clip is to cheesy and just colapses, just wondering if someone had a secret or should I just go with a glop <---technical term of silicone in this spot?

The Silicone worked great, And....................
I really don't understand all the negative apearance posts regarding them. They look pretty sharp on the Silver TT
