Anyone heard any rumors about when the new 911 is going to be shown?

The 997? Is that what you are asking? I do have some info.
From Chris (CFG) - owner of the FunCars Porsche forum. The **7 he is referring to is the 997 - next generation of the 911. Spies so far see more of a return to 993 styling although it looks as if this just might be limited to the round headlights. I believe the "dark blue" car he is referring to here is the 997 prototype seen about a month ago at the Nurburging.
I was at the P***** Factory in Zuffenhausen today where a friend picked up a C4S. Through some good friends we were invited to have a look at the facility in W*******, saw plenty of racecars and a **7 on the track as well as GT3 Cup cars being tested and GT3 prototypes .The dark blue car was there all the time almost racing with the GT2 that did the braking tests. My friends hade to leave a earlier and I still had some great time. They did temperature testing aon the **7 after being driven very hard it was driven into a box for measurements. Therefore almost no camouflage, just additional grills in front. Rear end like a C4S, slightly smaller lights, 4 tip exhaust. The front has 993 style headlights but lying almost as flat as in the 996. The front bumper looks like a C4S one but the grills in exterior color and smaller. Engine sounded like a standard 996 engine but it looks like the base engine will be a 340hp - presently planed delivery fall 2005.
And there were some Carrera GTs on the track as well with a sound like a jet engine delivery fall 2003

Yep, the 997...
I've seen a few spy shots of it and heard rumors that it was going to be more of a 993 shape, shorter, slimmer waist area and larger back end, kind of like the current C4S. I was just wondering if Porsche was going to show it during this years' auto show circuit.
The Carrera GT sounds bad ***, I'd love to see/hear one of those in person.

I doubt that you will see any official showings this year.

Personally I like the 996 styling the best of any edition 911. Of course I'm a bit partial to the C4S.
