They are such handsome sedans specially with the sport package and 18's. And the price for a used sample is reasonable. Not as stylish and rare as the TT, but nevertheless very nice and practical.

Kids..
I have a 1 year old and a 5 year old. Yes they fit in the back fine with one booster seat and a child seat. However, I need to move both front chairs forward to give them enough legroom. And no, I did not buy the TT for a family car (we have a Jeep Commander for that). Its just the few times I need to haul the kids that I wish it was more practical.

I like my B5 A4 Avant and my current B7 - never liked my B6....
Engine was weak, seats were horrible, suspension was nominal at best. B7 with the 2.0T is LEAGUES ahead in ALL those areas.

I'm in the same boat...
mine are 3 and 6, and as you are realizing, although they may fit it is a pain in the butt. I'd skip B6, but that's personal taste. Loved my B5, and like the B7s, but the B6s leave me cold. I am looking now as well, but will likely be looking one size larger. I feel cramped in A4s, and after riding in my friend's A6, there is a world of difference in the overall sensation of 'solidity.'
We also have a people mover, but I may look at a smaller utility, Infiniti FX size. Alas, if only they brought the C6 Allroad - I'd be all over that.
