c'mon, Ed...give yourself some credit..it's all fun! (More on Kumho MX)
looking forward to getting my butt back on the forum sometime soon...
Just ordered another set of the Kumho MX's. After pushing them hard last summer, including track use, I'm convinced they're the way to go. They grip, they're progressive in their response and safe at their limit, and you just don't feel bad wearing them out. In fact you feel quite good : )
I wear out a set of performance tires in one summer, regardless of brand, and like others here, I'd rather spend the money on other car things, or other things in general. I've used Pilot Sports, SO-3's, Pirelli PZero Rosso's, Toyo T1-S', etc. I've read a few negative things about Kumhos, but fewer negatives on the MX's in particular, and tons of positive stuff, including my own experience with them, now set #2.

LOL... had to get use to my new wheel set up. the stag set up introduced a little >>
understeer at the limit. so i had to relearn the limits of my rear end today.
I did well keeping up with Chad and Gil. There were a couple of times that my car had to remind me that I had not done any suspension mods.
The tires never once squeelled or hollered. They did give me more road noise at the limit (had the windows down). considered the plus 1 fitment of my wheels the sidewalls remained tight and never gave on me.
The time my rear did slide on me, it was totally controllable, the tires did their job and didn't let go. i was able to control slide it through. No rejection either from the tires. just keep the foot planted.
The couple of times i freaked out, the car (stock suspension) didn't freak out on me. The tires even held their grip when they shouldn't have.
I must admit, when i wear through these, i want to try the Pirelli Pzero Neros.

nope, not yet. neither do i have a suspension set up, which i am >>
sure contributed to teh loose rear under the extreme circumstances.
i was really pushing the car and keeping it near limits keeping up with Chad (porche) and Gil (heavily modded tt)
