Default aside from really wishing this would actually hit production lines....

<img src="https://www.audiworld.com/news/01/iaa/avantissimo/avantissimo4.jpg">

what do you all think of the light sensitive glass bit in the roof? think we'll ever see something similar in a real touch-me-drive-me vehicle? Certainly the inclusion of this effect at the top of the windshield would be a perfect answer to the traditional and useless sunvisors....

&lt;sigh&gt; i just plain want one.

Yes, I think that technology is less than 5 years out.

Default Me too, Nancy, me too... & I think those wheels would look great on a TT... ;-)

Did you know that the Allroad has an optional solar panel sunroof, to run a cooling fan (I think) or accesories or something. Also, I think one of the new panorama roofed cars, maybe the Porsche Targa, has photo-chromatic panels...

Or, maybe that was in a concept car I read about... hmmm... ;-)

Default didn't know that Rahul, that's got to be one of the smartest R&D results in a long time...

the solar power is excellent, but if the glass can darken and lighten as needed, that's just brilliant.

The article didn't eplain the wheels very well I didn't think, I would like to know more about that concept and purpose.

I know the Avantissimo had been discussed before, but it's just so damn gorgeous...

Default Beleive it or not, Ford was experimenting with that LCD technology in the

early eighties in the Probe IV concept vehicle.

Default Re: I've seen that glass tech on a prototype volvo at an autoshow in Germany..

I've seen similar glass technology in buildings. Pretty cool stuff.

Default hmm. wonder why it didn't get implemented at some point later on...

assuming it's the cost factor. A shame.
