^^^^PRECISELY^^^^I think people need to just lay off APR. I've seen a lot of quick judgments here...
... today and most of the judging parties have a severe lack of information. In addition to the ridiculously obvious fact that you "mod at your own risk," there was never any indication that APR was not going to step up and work with Chris to get the car running again. 400WHP from a 1.8T on an AWD car is an insane amount of power. It's entirely unsurprising that there might be issues, even something this serious.
Chris, none of this was an indictment of you/your posts.

Well perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to judge as every indication was that they were not going to
step up. Chris said multiple times he was on his own here. Seems you have no problem jumping to your own conclusions, why can't we?
And this has nothing to do against APR at this point as they have stepped up but this blind faith and can do no wrong attitude when someone bad mouths their tuner of choice is worse then people coming to the defense of a fellow enthusist.

no indication that APR was not going to help??? Did you not read Chris' post???????
Regardless of what is installed...if I spend thousand of dollars I expect support if something goes wrong for limited amount of time...In other words, a warranty of some sort
if the PARTS installed in turn cause a failure.
A lot folks insist that parts and installation only need to be covered but sometimes things have a domino effect.
Chris posted his issues and stated that APR, at the time, would not support him in any way. Chris has been on the forum for a long time and seem like a straight shooter. I don't think he would go so far to make things up.
I am an APR customer. I have an APR chip installed, they've been great to me. My investment is a mere $350 for a chip w/ several programs w/EMCS. With Chris, it is several thousand of dollars. I, of course, expect more.

Heh ... I'm still on my ORIGINAL Bosch DV. 5+ years, 80,000+ miles. ;^) & MAF too I think.
It does seem that Audi knew how far they could tune these things reliably. Though there are many others with lots of HP that have many more miles (Hans for instance), but they are a lot more dedicated. I think I might just be too lazy & not have enough expendable cash to do much more. Though I suppose someday I might time it right to get a chip. *shrug*
