Hello All,

Make sure you join us and over 200 of our closest kraut car driving buddies at the South Florida VW/Audi Get Together #10 this Saturday. We will have a tent setup and a section of parking for Audi Club of South Florida members. There is lots going on so make sure you check the website often for updates (http://www.audiclubsfl.com).

SOUTH FLORIDA AUGUST MEETING:

The August meeting will be at the South FL VW/Audi GTG #10. In lieu of our normal meeting, we will be joining the crowd at this huge event. The expected turn out is well over 100 cars and more than 200 people. Stop by our tent and hang out from 11am till 4pm.

When: Saturday, August 17, 2002
Time: 11am - 4pm
Costs: Free to come! $4 for a food and raffle ticket the day of the event or $3 pre-pay via PayPal to webmaster@quickvws.com. If you pay with PayPal, please include the year, model, and engine of your car as well as your full name and VWVortex or AudiWorld userid.

Why: Because it's going to have a ton of vendor displays, great cars, great food and a raffle of free products and prizes not ever seen in the state of Florida!

T-Shirts: This year we're going to have T-shirts for sale BEFORE and AFTER the event (supplies are limited). Since this is a public park sales of this nature are not allowed at the event. So pre order now and pick up your shirt the day of the event!

AUDI CLUB OF SOUTH FLORIDA RALLY 1.0 - SEPTEMBER 29th
THE RALLY IS ON! We will launch from the service lanes at Braman Audi/Porsche in West Palm Beach. Braman Audi has graciously offered to open their showroom and Audi Boutique on Sunday morning for us and will be providing a breakfast spread for the drivers.

The course is between 70 and 85 miles and includes a variety of different driving sections such as cursing the beaches, navigating downtown streets and really stretching it out in the everglades. The mandatory stops will hold some interesting surprises as well.

The rally will be ending at Coconuts on the Beach, Singer Island Hilton. The awards ceremonies will take place on the beach front deck at the Tikki Bar and restaurant. Afterwards the teams are encouraged to hang out and enjoy the reggae music, swim at the pool, snorkel on the reefs right off the beach or even make arrangements through the hotel to go Para-sailing.

Who:
Audi, Bentley, BMW, Mini, Porsche, Mercedes, Jaguar and Ferrari Clubs are welcome.

When:
September 29, 2002 @ 9:00am
Registration begins at 8:45 am, Drivers meeting @ 9:45am, first car leaves at 10:00am.

EURO CAR RALLY - SEPTEMBER 22nd
The Central Florida Audi Club we will be organizing the rally with the Ferrari Owners club for a route that will go through Winter Park, Lake County, and Lake Buena Vista. The final route is still being finalized, but our club will have an input on the route....so expect some nice Quattro-friendly roads. The rally will start at Ferrari of Central Florida, and will end at the Bahama Breeze in Lake Buena Vista. Applications will be available soon. As usual, the Audi Club of Central Florida will be meeting prior to the rally for coffee; details will be posted next month before the rally.

When: 9/22/02, registration begins at 11 am, first car leaves at noon.

GULF COAST AUTOCROSSES STARTING IN SEPTEMBER
Join Audi Club of South Florida at the following auto cross events hosted by GCAC. Drivers all skill levels welcome!! Saturdays consist of instruction in the morning and practice throughout the afternoon. Sunday the competition begins. Trophies are awarded to each class winner. Both days begin at 8:00 am. Prices for the events are $35 for both days or $25 for Sunday only. Lunch is provided on Sunday. Got quattro?

Directions:
Take Alligator Alley (I-75) North to exit #23 East. Continue for 1 mile to Buckingham Rd. Turn left. Continue for 4 miles to Sunset. Turn right. You will cross Gunnery Rd. this is a dangerous intersection come to a complete stop. Continue on Sunset for ¼ mile. The Runway will be on your left after the curve.

ROAD TRIP: PETIT LEMANS IN OCTOBER
Lets turn the Petit LeMans into a road trip weekend. The plan is to drive up early on Thursday and kick things off with Oktober Fest in the Alpine Village of Helen, Georgia. This little German village is nestled in the foot hills of the Appalachian mountains and is the hub for more than a 100 miles of twisty, curvy mountains roads. Join us for a Oktober Fest, mountain driving, ALMS racing weekend. Doesn't get any better than this.

Proposed Schedule:
10.10.02 (Thursday) - Drive up to Helen and partake in the Oktober Festivities that evening.
10.11.02 (Friday) - Stagger out of bed and drive over 100 miles of challenging mountains roads. Return to Helen for another evening of Oktober Fest Activities.
10.12.02. (Saturday) Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta, Braselton, Georgia. (About 45 minutes for Helen)
