Audi TT parking brake defect - read this.
Had this involved a FWD transmission issue, I might have reacted differently... But to all of a sudden seem to be soliciting participants for a class action suit for an issue that hasn't noticeably been discussed here... Well, it made me suspicious, and I don't think the original post matched the spirit of those who frequent this site.
Did you have your car in ANY gear when this occured? You do realize that the parking brake is a mechanical device that puts on the rear brakes via a cable? Have you had the cable checked to see if maybe the cable broke/came loose or some other explanation?
This is does NOT sound like a "defect" in the TT. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT defending Audi or any other car company. I have my own minor probs with my TTQ. It is just wrong of you to come out and SCREAM what your potential intentions might be. As Brad and Dennis have pointed out, none of us mind you trashing the TT or Audi. It was just the way that you started off your post. It seemed very vicious to everyone.
Maybe if you were to repost your entire problem then you will get a totally different response from the general listening audience!

Bringing Audi to Life for Audi Fans
"When parking on hills, also turn the wheels so that the front wheels will first run into the curb if the car starts to roll"
"Move the gearshift lever to 'R' or '1'"
You didn't mention if the wheels were turned, but it sounds like not. I would think Audi's **** would be covered here (of course, thankfully I'm not a lawyer). As a consumer, aren't you responsible for being familiar with the operating instructions for this vehicle? Did you read the manual? Probably not.
