It's not relevant that you have not seen anyone complain about this issue before...
..since they may not have had any reason to mention it, or may not have been to this site - it IS relevant though that you have never heard from me. Want to know why? BECAUSE I JUST GOT MY CAR DUMMY! It took ONE WHOLE WEEK for this problem to happen! My Porsche which is about 18 years old never ever had this problem, but my TT does...why is that Joe?

I have a question 'Roger'..Do you put passengers in your back seats?
Because if you do, MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE NOT TALLER THAN 4'11! Thats in the owners manual, on the driver's door jam, and on the trunk itself! Dont give me your "owners manual" crap - You and I both know it's just full of precautions to save Audi's hide from major lawsuits - but it only goes so far.

You sound sincere so I wont give you a hard time and I am very sorry that your new TT as well your garage is damaged, but how could you even think about a law suit when the Audi owner's manual (not to mention common sense) clearly states puting the car in low gear or reverse in addition to using the parking brake.
You parked your car on an inclined driveway and did not put it in gear and fault Audi ? I am not an attorney but it does not take one to figure out that you haven't got a chance of proving negligence by Audi.
Sometimes we have to blame ourselves for our own mistakes and stop faulting others. My two cents.

Yes, but they ARE under 4' 11"
They are 6 and 10. The 10 year old is 4' 8". It's all he can do to squeeze in there. Can't imagine anyone much bigger getting in there...but if they did, and I cracked their skull closing the trunk...I certainly wouldn't be blaming Audi for it.

Like someone slapping me awake (more)
I've driven and owned manual transmission cars before and always used the hand brake (parking brake) but placed the vehicle in NEUTRAL...IF the surface was level. But I think that I will change my modus operandi to place the vehicle in gear after using the brake.
I regret your problems and the controversy resulting from your posting. For me, however, you gave me a wakeup call. Thanks.

Ok, Irwin, I take back my earlier off the cuff comment. 
However, don't you think it makes sense to talk to Audi before you start seeking individuals to join a class action? For those of us who find the overly litigous in society an unbearable burden - and thats just about anyone involved in engineering, finance, healthcare and many other industires - it just grates to hear people talking like this. Look at Brad; for all his problems, some of which are serious, I've yet to hear him indicate he thinks lawyers are the answer.
In the meantime, I'll be careful with the handbrake. My guess is that if the problem were serious enough to be considered a material defect, we'd have heard about it long ago but thanks for letting us know.
