The biggest problem I have buying an Audi TT is that i'm worried that it lacks the perfromance of my VW VR6 Corrado. I have grown VERY fond of the power and torque of the VR6 and can't imagine replacing it with a turbo 4 cylinder. The Corrado sold for about 25k loaded back in 93 and most 0-60 figures put it in the mid to high 6's. Why can't the Audi TT at least match that for 10k more in 1999? If Audi would only shove a 6 in this car i would be sold, otherwise the S4 may be my only choice but i wanted a 2 door coupe. Any feedback/opinions?

my close friend had corrado vr6, which i loved. we took many long road trips (colo to california, up coast, back). this is one reason that i bought the tt. i am very impressed with the turbo, and lack of drag (compared to other turbo cars). i find the tt handles significantly better. my next door neighbor has a corrado, and side by side they couldnt be different cars. the finish quality, styling, detailing are head and shoulders better than the corrado (as would be expected with the age of corrado). the 3 year warranty including all scheduled maintenance and tune ups is significant, given the amount of time my friend's corrado was in the shop...

TT Blue

OK the Corrado is a G60 4 cyl. TT is 180fwd. On the straight TT slight edge, in the corners - no contest Corrado is definitly a slower FWD automobile while the TT is so neutral its in a differnt catagory easily stay with Boxters. I live in the NE and after 170 K miles in the Corrado had no qualms about therFWD TT in the snow.
