I was surprised to learn that my dealer has 1080hp fwd TT's available even though there was a waiting list. I will still wait for my 225hp Quattro though. Can anyone provide some insight on this?

1080hp FWD TTs? Now THAT would have some serious get-up!...

But I bet that someone would still want to chip it. Seriously, both cars are outstanding choices. I prefer the looks and soul of the TT. The biggest problem is that I am expecting a REALLY long wait for the 225hp TT. I know that there are delays for both the 225 and the TT Roadster due to very high demand for the 180 FWD and also the impending ramp-up of the 180 Quattro version. There are also strong rumors that the Haldex Quattro system is having problems with the larger output engine. Translation, waiting for the 225 hp TT will require the patience of Job.
